FASHION SHOW: Travel in Style

“Shang shows you how to travel in style to the different vacation spots in a hot fashion show featuring the freshest collection this summer season.”
Last April 20, 2013,  I was given the opportunity to be a model for a Summer Youth Fashion Show in Shangri-la Plaza Mall. With 'Travel in Style' as their theme for this year's show, it focused on different outfits from participating brands that teens and kids could wear when travelling or on a daily basis. Brands such as Elle Kids, Debenhams, Zara, Mexx, Justice, Una Rosa, GAP and the like were displayed in correspondence to certain themes like Nautical, Safari, Paris, African, Moroccan, Florals and Jungle. Production was all in all very nice and appealing as the runway looked like a boardwalk and the backdrop could split into two for grand entrances into the catwalk.

'MODEL' aka. backstage pass for the fashion show.
We had our make-up done by the make up artists in Shu Uemura. Result is as shown in the left image above. Honestly, the make-up made me feel like a cake that was decorated on but it actually made me feel pretty even with the loads of eyeliner and very pink lips. I felt like a Perrie Edwards from Little Mix.

My hair was in a simple high pony tail done by Basement Salon. All my hair was held back by the hairspray they had put on me (sticky but secure). I wouldn't hurt to sport a Venus Raj hairdo wouldn't it?

During the fashion show, I was not able to befriend nor talk to any of the other models (sadly) because they seemed too professional and not to mention extremely good looking for me to come forward and talk to them (That same day was when I found out who the models would be). I had met some of them from the same fashion show a few years back but not being able to talk to each other since then made me really shy; plus, looking at the other models made my self-esteem drop from 6 to 0.

I must say, walking on heels on the planks of the runway boardwalk was a bit challenging. I am not used to wearing heels but I made it through without falling! The fashion show itself was a different experience from what I am actually used to but it was a good opportunity for me to try something different, explore other things that I might like and boost my confidence!

I will upload more photos once I am able to get photos from the fashion show.

Let me take this time to advertise some sites
