Time for Summer to Sleep.

June 12th, 2013.. Officially, It's the last day of summer. *cries* Well, not only is it the last day for me; It's the 115th Anniversary of the Declaration of Philippine Independence. The day our country was declared as free and independent. How ironic though, the day we remember our country's independence is the same day I am taken away from my own freedom. Okay, Our independence is important cause without it, I don't think I would be even existing right now. So, Thank you, Philippine History for giving us this day to remember! I'm not trying to sound sarcastic. I really am grateful for our independence. It's just that I've realized that not too many care about it nor actually even think about it anymore, Sadly. Okay, Let me just stop the drama and cut to the chase. I'm here to talk about how I spent my last day of Summer 2013.

Do not tell anyone but, I slept at 4 am prior to this day. I was actually planning on "YOLO-ing" it and not sleep but I didn't wanna be a badass.......... I'm kidding. I just really couldn't sleep on the last night that was officially not part of my 'school night calendar'. When I actually got to sleep, I planned on waking up really late because obviously, the lack of sleep would be eating me alive this school year. But no! :( I was woken up at 7am. Good thing it was for something I love to do - SHOPPING!

Who wouldn't love shopping right? Well, for me, it's the best therapy I could ask for. I went with my mom to Shang at 8am so we could check out the sale. Ranging from 10% to 75% off, most of the things we (Well, my mom mostly) bought were really good deals! I actually noticed that I was running out of concealer/foundation for my performances and other stuff so, since we were already there, might as well buy a new one. The foundation I bought was from Benefit and I love it so much! The colour matched my skin perfectly and it comes with a cream that helps the face from oil break outs.

My much needed new foundation from Benefit! It's a really great set and very cute packaging.
After walking and shopping for almost 3 hours inside Rustan's alone, my mom and I got really tired and hungry so, we went to look for a place to eat. We stumbled upon a American themed pancake restaurant called MAPLE and I must say, the food was amazing and there are 3 things why I loved it there!
  1. It was quite expensive but servings were big (as in, really big!)
  2. Taste was worth each penny! The texture, the way it's cooked, the flavour - All perfect and just the way I like it
  3. Ambiance and interior design was very comfortable and not to mention, the staff was all around friendly and catered to our needs.
I ordered a pancake tower that had bacon and some special sauce in between each pancake then topped with a runny sunny-side up egg (sadly, I forgot what it was called. boo) and it gave an extreme 'melt in your mouth' sensation. My mom ordered a Truffle Omelet Souffle. I tasted it a little but it wasn't my thing, sadly but, my mom seemed to love it though!

Brunch was amazing and so was the retail therapy before that; but, after eating at maple and while walking around to get back to the car, I saw that Stradivarius was FINALLY open! Damn, was I so excited! It was like fashion heaven for me and the clothes are really worth the price! Everything was just so pretty to look at and their collection's colours for this season definitely caught my eye; having neon and aztec and pastel colours all over the place. I actually pinched myself, 'I must be dreaming'.

some loot from Stradivarius and the make up :)
Ecstatically, I got to buy some stuff that I wanted. THANKS, MOM! Would you believe? the things we did took up only the morning from 8am - 12:30pm. I don't wanna bore you with my story, so let me just speed things up. Once my mom and I got home, we actually left again but with my siblings this time to do some last minute school shopping. One downside to this was the lines were all long and the notebook that I really really wanted was out of stock. Anyways, Lunch/Merienda came after and we had Filipino food from Ombu. One of the best Filipino restaurants that I've tried! We just went to so many places after all that happened. I got home at around 7 and I was extremely tired for all it. I just wanted to lie on my bed but I still had to wrap my books (there goes my irresponsible me)

This last day of summer was really well spent especially that I got to spend it with my family! Sadly, I didn't watch Man Of Steel because we were incomplete.. :( I was extremely looking forward to it but oh well, At least we're watching on Sunday!

I honestly don't know what to feel about tomorrow being the first day of school. I haven't really thought about it really. New classmates, new teachers, same classroom and same set of stairs. Oh well, I'll just have to hope for the best for this year but if it says anything, a part of me is excited and scared and dreading about tomorrow.

Sorry about this random post. I just thought I'd tell you about my day. I really am not good with narratives. hehe.

I might not be posting as often since school's starting but I will try my best to post and update you guys! :)
